The Isenbarger's family fall lifestyle session in West Lafayette, Indiana was absolutely stunning! My absolute passion in family photography is to capture genuine emotion, real connection, and organic family moments that highlight the love you share with your favorite people, all in gorgeous golden hour light! This certainly happened with their session. Check out highlights from their session!
I loved spending time with Hannah and AJ at IU Arnett Hospital this past week as they welcomed their sweet little Grace into their arms. I’m so so moved every time I have the honor and privilege of entering into a hospital room of someone I have never met and who has also just birthed a baby, to capture and photograph these first moments. I LOVE to see the smiles and excitement on the faces of new parents as they seek to comfort and connect with their new little ones. It is seriously the best and just gives me the goose bumps thinking about it.
Cake smashes have got to be some of the most fun sessions I do! Virginia’s was no exception, although she wasn’t so sure of the sweet taste after she dug into her cake, and that’s what made for the best pictures! After a little time warming up though, she was covered head to toe in frosting and her expressions are priceless!
Considering doing a cake smash for your child’s 1st birthday? I would love to talk to you today and help design a custom setup for you! Check out our cake smash page for more information!
When Qiyuan said that she wanted to incorporate tractors and a farm into her session, my brain was racing all over the place as I began to piece together her session. After considering my friend’s farm outside of Lafayette, we decided to start with a few urban shots in downtown Lafayette and then make our way out to the farm to finish up the evening.
A great time to do a family session is when one of your children is having a birthday and you want to remember that milestone! The Michael family celebrated Ava’s 1st birthday right around the time of this gorgeous family summer photography session at Cool Creek Park in Carmel, Indiana and we met at 7am to capture these sunrise photos!
If you don’t know by now, I’m super passionate about capturing sweet connecting moments with loved ones. Time goes by so quickly and a photo is a memory forever frozen in time to cherish long after. When you look at that image, your mind takes you back to that exact moment, the feelings, the smells, the emotion, the memories, and you are filled with warmth.
I look at these photos and I feel the little hands hugging my face, the squirmy bodies impatient to get up and run around, the squeals as we play under the throw blanket and the cries as Andrew clings to me. I want to remember it all… ok, almost all of it but maybe not all the whining ;) haha.
Meet Luke Milsaps, a McCutcheon High 2020 senior who completely rocked his session! We had a blast capturing his senior photos around downtown Lafayette in one of July’s cool spells. Thank goodness because who wants to wear jeans when it’s 95 degrees!
Luke has a super busy schedule between working and running cross country (he’s an amazing runner by the way!!) and so we were glad to schedule his senior session before the school began and life got too hectic.
All the best to you Luke in your senior year and what’s to come! May your dreams stay big and your adventures take you to the life you’ve always wanted!
Kelly, Zach and Avi came bright and early on Avi’s half birthday for this beautiful session at the Celery Bog in West Lafayette! We met at 7am (yes we all made sure to have plenty of coffee before the session so we would be awake!) and it was a chilly 59 degrees in the middle of July but Avi was a total trooper! He just needed one pitstop to nurse before he was back in business again to finish out his session. The wildflowers were totally in full bloom and we had such a fun time capturing these sweet moments together.
Meet Kiersten Wood, a West Lafayette High 2020 senior! Kiersten plays volleyball and softball for Westside and is involved in Young Life! She was simply stunning in her senior session this past weekend and I am beyond excited to share some of the highlights from her session!
Miss Hallie has the biggest little personality I have seen in the studio and I am just LOVING it! She smiled mostly the entire time and we had so much fun together. She is one of my Grow With Me babies and I have the privilege of seeing her every couple months and watching her grow.
It was such an honor to photograph Ari’s Bar Mitzvah last weekend at Temple Israel in West Lafayette! He wasn’t so sure about me when I first arrived but after giving me a tour of the Temple and a little background history into the Torah and different elements of the Bar Mitzvah, we were on to capturing fun moments with his family.
After a few early morning sunrise seasons this past week, I am totally sold on 6:30am as the new best time for photography with small children! I’ve been looking forward to the Cummins family session for a while because I keep seeing such adorable pictures of Eva on IG and could not wait for their session! Their session certainly did not disappoint… are they not the most adorable family!?
Most parents wait for 9 months for their baby to be born but Traci and her husband Tony have been waiting patiently and expectantly for 18 months to adopt a baby girl. Their whole world changed on June 11th, when they got a call that a little girl had been born an hour earlier and the birth mom had chosen for them to be the parents. Less than 24 hours later, they were on the road to meet little Daphni in the hospital. The very next day, the birth mom wanted to see her little girl one last time (I’m still choking up over this one) and say goodbye. She brought little Daphni back to Traci and said, “I want to be the one to give her to you”. Traci tearfully said, “you know we will absolutely love her”.
I have been in search of wildflower fields for weeks in the Lafayette and West Lafayette area but either it is on private land or it is along a highway and not accessible. Finally though, I found the perfect place for a wildflower session for Virginia’s 9 month milestone photos and I could not be more obsessed with them! Not only was Virginia in great spirits and super smiley, we got through 3 outfit changes and different props and flower patches before the rain started fall. Yes, this whole photography session took place in 30 minutes or less I believe.
Although Indiana is were we currently live, North Carolina will always feel like home and it was great to be back for a few days to see family, shoot a wedding, and fit in a few family photo sessions as well!
I met Gabriela at UNC when we were both students and it was so fun to reconnect with her after 15 years and meet her precious family.
We decided to meet at Harris Lake County Park just outside of Cary, NC around 7pm and the golden hour light was just perfect!
It has been an overly rainy spring and my photography sessions have been postponed and rescheduled more than I can count, including this beautiful family’s… but they were patient with the weather and me to find the perfect evening for their gorgeous family session at Purdue’s Horticulture Park in West Lafayette, Indiana.
It was an honor and privilege to capture Estevan’s First Holy Communion Service at St. Boniface Church in Lafayette, Indiana. Not having grown up Catholic, I had never been to a first communion service, but that afternoon was incredibly meaningful as the 50 plus children were welcomed into the life of the church and sacraments. These are just a handful of the 90+ photos in their gallery but I wanted to give you a little sample of this special events photography.
Eleven years ago today we stood before 250 of our friends and family and entered into this beautiful covenant relationship called marriage. You were my best friend and I was so excited to continue journeying through life with you.
