Brittany’s Winter Maternity Session

My passion is capturing photographs of heartfelt moments for families to savor forever as keepsake memories. Whenever I'm not helping your family, you can find me loving on my own. Camping trips, boba tea, and card games are our favorite ways to connect!

You know when you pick up a new book and read the first chapter and you aren’t really sure what to expect but then you keep reading and absolutely fall in love with the story and are completely hooked?

That’s how I feel about that nine months leading up to your baby’s first birth. Your little one’s story is just beginning, you are reading the first chapter and have no earthly idea what to expect because the following pages are still unwritten…BUT… you know it’s gonna be great. You are hooked and can’t wait to see how the story unfolds.

I absolutely love to see the eager anticipation and excitement in the eyes of expecting parents! I remember that very same feeling before my little Elsie was born and it was just the best. Of course I was achy, tired and oh so ready for her to get here, but I look back at my maternity photos and have such sweet and fond memories as we nested, waited, and prepared for her to come.

One thing that irked me more than anything though was parents who thought they could just come and and pop my happy bubble by telling me things like, “oh you are all excited but just you wait, you won’t get any sleep”. Or, “things will never be the same… you just wait”. “You better enjoy it because it’s gonna go fast and they’ll be grown-up before you know it”.

Uh, ok thanks thanks for the advice?

You see, some of the best stories must have suspense… waiting…parts unknown. Your little one’s story is just beginning but it’s already making for one amazing story.

Brittany and Ben are awaiting the birth of their little girl in just a few short weeks! Although it was as cold as a polar plunge out there, we had a blast together during their maternity session. We would take a round of photos for 5-10 minutes and then run to the car and warm up and then go out to a different spot and give it a go again before we needed a warm-up. They were super great sports and it paid off with some of the most romantic and dreamy photos.

Cheers!

Kelly
