As I pulled up to the shoot location, I couldn’t contain my excitement. Paige and I had been messaging for months about a “snowy maternity shoot” and had it all planned out from her beautiful gown to her makeup and the location…but, there was one thing we could not control. The snow.
After an unseasonably warm beginning of the winter, I had little faith that the weekend we had chosen for her session would show any amount of accumulation in the form of white fluffy precipitation. Low and behold though, a blanket of white snow awaited us along with icy cold temperatures. We got exactly what she wanted… the most dreamy and snowy maternity photos.
Maternity photos are some of my favs and you know why?

They give you a chance to celebrate your pregnancy and all that is ahead! So many moms have selfies in their bathrooms of their growing belly, but later wish they had invested in a professional maternity session which would have made them feel so beautiful and celebrated.

They help capture the anticipation you feel. You know, after you have a baby you quickly forget all of those feelings of anticipation and excitement as you awaited the birth of your little one. Capturing those photos helps bring you back to that feeling and emotion from such a special time in your life. It retells your story.

Your kids will definitely want to see what you looked like when THEY were in YOUR belly and it helps you in telling them their stories.

Finally, I love to ask couples about their first date and how they met during our sessions, which gives them a chance to reminisce about what brought them together in the first place and how they are entering into a new season of their journey.
