A great time to do a family session is when one of your children is having a birthday and you want to remember that milestone! The Michael family celebrated Ava’s 1st birthday right around the time of this gorgeous family summer photography session at Cool Creek Park in Carmel, Indiana and we met at 7am to capture these sunrise photos!
Sweet Ava was not so excited about a strange lady poking a camera in her face and it took a little while to figure out how to get her warmed up to the idea, but eventually she came around and we even got some smiles!
The biggest fear that most parents have including myself with our own family session is wether your kids will cooperate. It’s just the worst feeling when you have paid for a session and have new outfits all picked out, hair and makeup done, and drag your whole family out there only for your children to completely lose it and look miserable in all the photos.
Well, for the record, this has like almost never happened! Usually children warm up to the idea after a few minutes, or we break out the fruit snacks, baby nurses, or we play games and reset and we are able to capture the precious moments you are after. All that’s required on your part with your kiddos is patience, gentleness, kind words and love because I am totally fine giving extra time if your kiddos need it that day. I get it…I’m a mom too and know that there are just those times.
